IRIS Multi-Lane ALPR Camera with Dual OCR

The PIPS Technology™ IRIS multi-lane camera is a cost-effective and easy-to-deploy ALPR camera that expands your capabilities in all license plate recognition applications.

The IRIS camera has dual OCR (Infrared & color) which enables the camera to detect and read license plates of variable retroreflective quality, or that have been deliberately altered.  This camera provides a high-quality color overview in low light. With sufficient ambient lighting, the camera can detect and read entirely non-retro reflective license plates.

The IRIS camera incorporates a quad-core OCR processor providing extra fire-power for faster detection with highly accurate license plate recognition. Incorporating a remotely adjustable zoom lens with a wide field of view and long focal range, the IRIS camera is a versatile ALPR solution covering a variety of end-user applications.  Whether used for safety and security, free-flow tolling, low-emission zones or access control, IRIS delivers the best-in-class results in all the various applications.

Fixed Wide Lane ALPR Camera P492

The newest member of the PIPS fixed ALPR camera family, the PIPS P492 camera is a self-illuminating, LED Infrared (IR) camera for high-performance image processing, contained within a single water tight, sealed enclosure.
Developed in-house, the camera’s embedded Optical Character Recognition (OCR) engine offers customers a single point of accountability. Customers who value redundancy in their system will appreciate that P492’s on-board OCR reads license plates directly, independent of network or back-end system availability or workload.
The PIPS P492 camera captures both IR and color images to aid improved revenue collection capabilities in tolling applications. PIPS P492 is designed to capture and analyze multiple license plates in the same field of view, and uses a multi-exposure technique, commonly referred to as “Triple flash” technology, to effectively suppress ambient light such as headlights and bright sunlight. The camera is fully web-enabled and can be configured and monitored from a standard web browser.

Fixed ALPR Camera P392+

Featuring high memory storage and fast processing speeds, the PIPS Fixed ALPR Camera is a fully-integrated ALPR unit incorporating camera(s), illuminator, and image processing within a single water tight, sealed enclosure. This basic camera is the smallest of PIPS fixed camera family and provides customers with 5 feet of horizontal traffic lane coverage.

Using a multi-exposure technique, commonly referred to as “Triple-flash” technology, this camera is able to suppress ambient light such as headlights and bright sunlight. This helps to reduce image exposure differences caused by plate-to-plate quality variations. Excellent plate detection is made possible using a patented technology that allows for real-time, video triggering upon plate presence. A vehicle presence trigger input is also available for capturing vehicle overview images when no license plate is present.
