Green Bay, WI (October 2, 2013) – Baycom Inc., the official provider of two-way radios for the Green Bay Packers, rolled out a successful MOTOTRBO™ digital radio system that supports communications during the Green Bay Packers home opener and at each home game.
The Packers radio system was upgraded by Baycom this summer during the stadium’s south end zone construction project to add capacity to the communications system and keep in line with the Packers growth.
Behind the scenes of every game, the Packers staff is communicating between more than 30 different groups with over 600 Motorola radios. The system allows real-time communications with clear reception at the push of a button. In the Packers home opener, the radio system successfully handled an average of 20,000 dispatch calls.
“Especially during game days, it is important to have the right technology and high-quality communications,” said Steve Elias, CEO of Baycom. “Updating the Packers’ system with MOTOTRBO digital technology was a great solution to support staff communications and will help to ensure continued safety and security at Lambeau Field.”
The combination of a massive crowd and the need to cover a large area makes two-way radio a critical communications tool for home games. At each game, two-way radios are integral in helping to make operations run smoothly, from security and maintenance to guest services and food and beverage.
“A communications tool has to be quick, easy to use, and reliable,” said Aaron Hart, Corporate Sales Executive of the Green Bay Packers. “When there is an emergency or security incident, we need to be able to rely on a communication tool.”
Baycom is headquartered in Green Bay, Wis., and has been the official provider of two-way radios for the Green Bay Packers since 2000.
